Andy Coultrup, Colin Stevens, Dave Blaney, Frances Pendle, Gordon Day, Janusz Holender, John Day, John Standing, Martin Viohl, Paul Smith, Pete Cannon and Pete Mayo gathered under autumn sunshine to play the Heron/Hawk combination at South Essex.
The refugees joined Pete Cannon and Andy for their first game under the auspices of the the TSG.
ASBO and Dave took on the two Petes in the first four ball and won the doubles matchplay 4 and 3.
Col and Gordon made short work of Andy and Rulesz to win 7 and 5. Colin made an eagle on 10 and Gordon birdied the 14th for 5 points (this is becoming a regular occurence Handicap Secretary).
M'Lady and JD stood little chance against the tidal wave of El Capitino and The Baron losing 6 and 5. JD managed to birdie the 6th and 4 putt the 1st after hitting the green. We took the usual snifters under local rules as well as on the 1st and 18th tees to celebrate the new regime.
Col won the overall with 40 points, ASBO won the front nine and El Capitino won the back nine. Other scores El Capitino 39 points, ASBO 36, M'Lady 34, The Baron and Pete M 33, Gordon 32, Dave and JD 29, Rulesz 28, Pete C 24 and Andy 11.
Is the air thin at 12.2 Col?
Thanks to Pete C and Andy for the welcome to TSG.
JD signing off for now.

John, great day, well organised, weather great and company good fun; plus extremely gentlemanly of you not to mention that I managed to score 8 points on the front 9 ! I'd like to think that others who have played with me recently would confirm that 8 points is not my best golf (but I suspect that instead they'll be rolling around laughing). Next time I'll bring along the golfing side of my brain... looking forward to the rematch.
