Not such a good boy, Santa plied me with loads of stuff, new under armour, Greg Norman tops, windproof jackets, the last of the Pinnacle Gold Precision balls, gloves, hats, tees, utility tools... you'd think I had no other interests...

Actually Papa Noel did spoil me some more:

- a "bling bling" Swarovksi pen, useful to draft my "short" TSG course reviews
- a gardening tool for my Voluntary work
- a Rugby Ticket to watch Harlequins vs London Irish, at the Twickenham Stadium

I got engaged, somewhat of a surprise, but there was a ring attached to the perfume so I thought it would be rude not to accept.

As my poor golf widow had no idea what I was going on about when she asked me what her and family should get me I bought my own pressies this year.

So, golf related, I got myself hedgehog wheels for my Motocaddy S3, wheel covers for my summer wheels and a 12ft putting mat.

I then waited for the sales and updated the golf half of my wardrobe, and when I say half I do mean about 2/3rds.

I have to say I think the putting mat was a waste of time as it is very easy and after a few putts very boring. Whether it will help me improve my putting remains to be seen. From the last few rounds I would say I'm getting worse as putting was my strongest point and rarely 3 putted. This has not been the case in 2013!!!!

I should add that I was refunded the money so I didn't end up paying for my own gifts as well as getting them.

....anyway, on the golfing side, Santa treated me with a £30 golf voucher to spend in my club pro shop.  They have got a sale!  Also, I won some Aqualite golf shoes in the Christmas draw, so that's a sort of gift.  14 years a member - a tenner each year in the draw - finally I get a prize!

Last Christmas I won £200 to be spent on any driver I wanted in the club shop. I managed to wrangle it to be put towards my next years membership.

nothing overly comical there ofcourse other than the fact I had recently voiced a complaint against the then club captain and a four ball he was in for being incredibly ignorant and that he should have known better. One of the fourball was (I believe) his wife. She was the lady who pulled my winning ticket out of the draw!!!

I wasn't there but when it was explained who the winner was they weren't overly impressed, I have been led to believe.

The club is Horton Park. I'm sure this ex captain is a great guy but on this occasion i felt totally justified in airing my complaint.

i still go there as i have a half membership as it has a great range, staff are fantastic, I have my lessons there with an ex tour pro who is a great instructor. Unfortunately although some big improvements have taken place and ongoing hard work to improve the course  in the winter it is a nightmare to play.

Andy - does the new printer have wheels?
Thanks for the offer. I wouldn't dream of asking anyone else. Once the date is fixed, I was thinking about posting a game at Royal Blackheath for the morning and then holding the reception there as well. The speeches could include the prizegiving and show us the the money shots, nearest the pin and longest drive...but I might have to save some prizes for the honeymoon.

Hey Brigitte - delayed pick up from me. What's this about an Orange Whip? Surely not a golfing aid?

So Judy, we are back to the original topic...... so we need to open another forum as to your new name, etc. may be a special page for the wedding photos and I could always write a review on your wedding day, should I get invited.

Well, can you believe it.....nothing golf related?!

So, I am going to treat myself to a nice new Galvin Green jacket!!

In the meantime, I still need to know, who is engaged to who.... and is it the first TSG 'match'?

Well, naturally, as Brigitte has branded me Mrs Robinson, my fiance is Benjamin of course! Bridge - of course you would be invited and I could not think of anyone better than you to write a review of the wedding. Maybe you could help with the speeches too! Andy C will take the piccies. What fun.

Thank you Ian. Whether I be Mrs Robinson, Lady Chlopas or whether my fiance takes my surname, rest assured you will be invited to the nuptuals. Watch this space.
