Here's another branch up for discussion.  I'm a member of the Comedians Golf Society and we do run monthly golf games.  The winner of each (second or third as well) is always cut a number of handicap points (up to 3 for winning) plus the 0.5 for every shot better than handicap.  So it can be for winning the day with 33 stableford  points and being cut within the society by 2 handicap pts.  Designed to make sure that everyone has a fair chance of winning over time...

This in essence doesn't reflect the actual playing standard so should a society handicap be harmonised with a TSG handicap?   I think my own handicap TSG 16.5 and about right on a good day... is closer to skill level than the 14 I will be playing off with the Comedians.
