Hi Roger
Not personal experience and it does depend on which knee (makes sense)but a colleague of mine (Comedians Golfing Society) had a knee job late 2010, and was back on the golf course (in a buggy) within 6 months (counting Dec/Jan/Feb) still limps along, his was a right knee for a right handed player so probably less stress...
Depends on age and recovery capacity and physio I would guess, build up the muscles beforehand and the recovery (I am told) is quicker...

Hi Roger,
Good luck with the op. You are a strong man and should back to golfing in no time, but listen to what the doc./nurses say & plenty of physio....

Good luck Roger, remember you can still keep active, putting practice first, then short game chipping, and that could be as soon as the Doc and Physio say OK. Might be much quicker than 6 months. And when you do get back you will still have the touch.. Best Wishes (I am sure from all Social Golfers).

I just thought of something else Roger, pratice your game mentally and read all you can on the fascinating "Golf mind", remember we want to see you take part & support you in the 2013 DBO or BDO, I cannot remember how it is worded...

Let us know when you go to hospital, and if not too far, I shall pay you a visit.
Take care

Roger, I wish you a speedy recovery. I did not have a knee op but a cartilage op last March and with physio etc was back playing after 6 months but I still get twinges in my knee and am very careful playing hilly courses

Good luck with the op.Had knee reconstruction, cartlidge, posterior cruciate and more common acl. Played with very restrictive leg input, basically just upper body and was able tp play close to my hcap. Was back swinging a club within a month. And playing within 2 months, again with restricted swing playing fully mobile within 4 months. Now 12 months since op. lots of physio and fully stable knee( well almost) still find it difficult to fully commit to a full knee turn but am managing to play, mostly pain free, although still have a lot of swelling after a round. Hope this helps. Paul
