Every time I have entered a card on here it gives me one extra point than what I actually got. Any ideas why? I feel like I'm cheating

There is a reason, but I cannot remember. I am sure that someone with a bit more brain will provide you wih the accurate answer.
"The Team" should know, may they have not read the Forum yet, mus be playing golf somewhere.

Hi Ash,
Hmmm... that doesn't sound right? However, having looked at your scorecards I can't see why there should be any errors?
A few things that could effect your handicap score...
- The course scorecard has been updated since the last TSG scorecard entry
- You haven't allowed for the SSS which may or may not effect how much your handicap goes up and down by
- Your making mistakes on entering your cards (unlikely?)
- We've got a bug in the system (I hope not!)
Perhaps you can drop us an email, at theteam@thesocialgolfer.com with your record of what you scored and we'll comparte it to what's on your profile and we'll investigate further.
Kind Regards
Ian

Hi Ash
Are you giving yourself two shots on holes up to your handicap, so for example you would get 2 shots on holes with a stroke index of 1 to 6 (inclusive), if you are not including the hole with a stroke index 6 (handicap 24) then that might account for the missing point. Without seeing your score card it is difficult to say, I would suggest having someone else check the scorecard - ask the club pro shop they can usually count well enough - just to have a look over it...

I just looked at your last card from Rusper and it looks correct to me. Perhaps you could highlight the hole you think you got the extra point on but I reckon that Stephen has probably pinpointed the reason. Don't forget that, with a handicap of 24, you get 2 shots on holes with indexes 1-6. So, as an example, if you score 6 on a par 4 where the index is 6, you still get 2 points.

Thanks everyone.
I am aware of the extra shot on 1 to 6 index holes. I put a double line through the holes I gain on to remind me as I go round. A little tip I got taught. I'm looking forward to using the other tip of ringing the ones you don't get a shot on.
I'm happy to admit it probably is me but as I'm walking round whoever I'm with has always agreed the scores with me so I'm a little confused.
I'm going to see what happens on the next one and then I will let the team know

No problems on today's card apart from not enough points in general. I could've done with extra one today!!
