Well done Chris Sawyer yesterday at Chelsfield Lakes scoring 47pts with just 5 clubs. Is this the highest scoring points achieved on the TSG so far? Maybe we should all play with just 5 clubs as the the scores yesterday all seem to be high. Do you play better with 5 clubs as it makes you think all shots out carefully sometimes full swing, half swing, chip and run useing the the different lenghts of the shaft which you would not normally do.

Fantastic well done Chris.I use just five clubs most rounds and would think most high handicappers do the same.

Yes  well done, i was top of the leader list with 40 but i knew it was not good enough but 47!!!!
I think Dave has a point, thinking about your shots, plus i have looked at the card and there are a number of short holes ,  which is why there were so many low scores on the day, but 47 is very good .
Dave maybe its one to put on the list to play

A lot of clubs run either a 5 or even a 3 club comp.  It is great fun and really makes you think.  Myself - I'm struggling to get 28 points with all my clubs at the moment!

Here's some background to how I chose my 5 clubs...I played with a 3-wood, 5-iron, 8-iron, pitching wedge (P) and putter. Before the round I checked out that the Par 3's could be reached with a full swing with one of the clubs. I also thought I could chip or pitch to the greens from 130 yards or less with either an 8-iron or pitching wedge.  I decided not to use a sand-wedge as I hoped to miss the bunkers (don't we all) or give it a good thrash when I went in one.  What I was not expecting was for all this to work as planned.  Consistency does not happen very often when you play as little golf as I do, but on the day something clicked.
