As we near the end of our first month the TSG MatchPlay Championship (sponsored by The Altonwood Group), we are very pleased to say the competition has truly begun in earnest ...
With many of the matches going to the wire and even one going to a Play-Off hole, I think the first round draw has proved to be tightly contested. However, the highlight for us has to be the gentlemanly conduct of Mr.Richard Saunders who called a two stroke penalty on himself (for playing the wrong ball) during his match with Mr.Kamal Lahkini. This resulted in an immediate loss of hole (that's the rule in MatchPlay!) which brought the match to all square, leaving Kamal well placed to close out the game - a superb example of honesty and sportsmanship by Richard and one we applaud!
However, now is the time for the competition to start proper, with no more 'byes' and some of the communities most well known faces joining the field! So here we go. Independently chosen and verified by Amy at The Altonwood Group ....

All ties to be completed by the end of May. The third round draw will take place late May and will be posted here and on the TSG MatchPlay Championship group page.
