The benign autumn weather continued as Adam Jolliffe, Chris Billings, Colin Stevens, Gordon Day, John Day, Martin Viohl, Lee Benson and Pete Mayo arrived to play Pedham Place.
JD won the speed breakfast competition that is held whenever two Day brothers play golf.
Col and Chris took on Bomber and GolfBully at matchplay and eventually won 1 up at the 18th. Colin chipped in on the 13th for a birdie.
Pete and JD took on The Baron and Gordon at matchplay and managed to contain a determined fightback to retain a 1 up lead when the 18th was halved. Gordon had another 5 point birdie. Pete would have been the walking wounded but got a buggy instead.
Col won the overall with 36 points, Chris won the front nine with 17 points and Gordon the back nine with 19. Other scores JD 32, The Baron 31, Bomber, GolfBully and Gordon 30 , Pete 29 and Chris 28.
JD still can't calculate his Stableford points correctly. He obviously has an unconscious desire to be an 18 handicap and therefore owes Chris £4 for the front nine.
