Aware of my dexterity, recently my son bought me a left-handed glove which was of no use to me. As if playing the game is not complicated enough but surely in golf terms that I am right-handed!

Here's why:
In a setup I stand with my right shoulder pointing towards the target. My right foot slightly open. With my gloved right hand I grip the club which by the way has a blade that is mounted on the shaft facing right. As I am about to take a swing my head tilts slightly right with my chin pointing down to my right foot. On the back swing my right arm must remain fully extended all the way to the top. Tip, I must not move my right foot through out the back swing and the follow through. All power and weight is shifted to the right for maximum rotation. When the ball is dislodged I should look up and out for it by turning my head right to where the green would be.

How am I classed as left-handed?

It's easy to explain. Your left arm's movement and direction away from your body makes it left handed swing. Pick up a stone and fling it away. You wouldn't throw it 'back handed'. I throw it wi my right arm though I swing a club with my left arm. I play ice hockey left handed. My bottom hand on a stick is my left which passes and shoots the puck, my right hand just supports it. Same goes for baseball and cricket bats.
My mate plays golf 'cross handed'. He's the only person I've ever seen do it. He uses right handed clubs and grips a club as left handed players.

Bridgette- you are right!

Mark- tried that, now talking myself into believing

Mario- an interesting observation but not convinced, I wear a right glove so ought to be right handed. Also no point of saying I need to be left handed to do all the right thing
