Hi,
I notice that people post up games reasonably far in advance. My understanding of most golf clubs is that members tend to get 8 days ahead, non members can only book 7 days ahead. Making it hard to book a game and open it up to other members, due to short timeline. Others obviously manage it, so I just wondered how. Do all games get books as society days even if only 4 people want to go?
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve,
I guess this depends on the club, but many TSGers will post a game on the site without booking the tee time and make it "Approx". This means that you may not get the exact tee time as posted on the original game posted but most wont be far away from the preferred time you want (unless its 8am on Sat morning!)....
You don't have to book games arranged on TSG as a society day either, unless you are more than 12 usually. I am also conscious that as soon as you mention the word "society" to some clubs, they suddenly want to put the rates up - so I never mention this - although I do mention TSG.
My advice - post the game anyway (with good notice if its your first game) meaning you'll have a better idea of numbers by the time you speak to the club and ALWAYS negotiate!
:-)

 Hi Steve,
Good luck with your 1st posting, you might even see me join your game if it is a sunny day.
Are we going to be allowed to dress up ?
Kind regards
Brigitte

Thanks everyone. I will try that advice and book something soon.
And Brigitte, I'm sure that you will never hear complaints from anyone if you decide to get all dressed up for the day! :-)

Judy,
Well I think that Steve plays naked according to his profile picture ...."Life is short, play naked", so unless we are on this very special French island, I think I shall wear some golf clothes, that is all.
But watch out for Steve's 1st posting as he may mention the requirements for the day, something new for the TSGers

That's my girl. I knew you would come up trumps. So Steve - are you posting a naturist game? Perhaps we should have a TSG calendar! Andy C - you're hired!

Ha Ha! But naked golf yesterdy could have been painful in sooo many other ways!
Hope it's not as hot this morning. I don't even own a pair of acceptable golfing attire type shorts. Trousers or nothing! We might be about to find out just exactly what a golf course; not to mention the two guys playing the game with me; think of this hole golf nakedness thing! Hopefuuly I won't get penalised for having too many clubs in my bag
Needless to say, I don't think their will be any posting of photos today.
