Not sure if the following question has been raised before:
Should scorecards including the winter Tee boxes & temporary greens be included (or counted) in the Monthly Leaderboard.? I think not unless the shorter yardages are adjusted/recorded.
What do other TSGers think?

For the majority of our recent games, most of the yellow tees have been at the reds. While it is nice to have the company (I love you guys) we ladies are at a disadvantage, as we are playing from our usual tee boxes and yardage.
However, I am not being given any shots to compensate. This was actually brought up by one of the guys at our game at Farleigh on Saturday that this is not fair.
Should the guys be creating a card on the web that gives the yardage from the red tees - where played - and would this update the SS for their card?
What shots should the ladies be given to make it fair?

Personally, I think this is just wrong!!
How can a score on a course, that is playing forward tees and temp greens, be representative of your normal game and therefore included in your handicap calculation.....
Of course, it is for everyone to consider their own concious but I for one would see it this a gross mis-representation of fair play if it were included in the monthly leaderboard!
Just sayin....

At my club, your score only counts for handicap if there are 2 or less temporary greens. This is an official rule for my club, not sure if it applies generically.
The ladies tees are always in the same place - regardless of bad weather. This seems to apply wherever I play.
For the site - there is an option to untick the box so that the score does not count for handicap.
I untick the box when I put in a score from my own club if there are more than 2 temps.
A thought with regard to the TSG game scores, I think the player needs to declare in the Comments section if there were any temporary greens involved. Perhaps a similar or close to similar rule could be applied with regard to what counts for the leaderboard as a result of months of bad weather.
I also think the player getting a high score from majority yellow tees positioned at the reds should not count for the leaderboard. Simples and fair.

To compensate for the state of most courses at this time of year I think playing from the front tees makes no difference at all.
In the summer months you get run from your drives, during the winter your ball might plug.
It's swings and roundabouts!

Russ - It definitely makes a difference and is not even playing field when the guys are playing from the same tee position as the ladies and the ladies are in the same competition.

I totally agree with Judy's comments... we need extra shots to compensate for teeing off from the same tees in winter.

The problem with the statements I have read, where do you stop, I am 50-60 yards shorter off of the tee than a lot of the men, and a bit longer than some of the older tsg men players, should I get to tee further up the tee box than the long hitters, as they have an advantage on every hole i play against them where driver is involved they use a shorter iron than me approaching the greens.
You will notice that despite some good scores in winter, they are better in summer by the men with the back tees.
Also as less lady players on courses, the ladies tees are in decent condition during winter, and we are often playing off of a bit of fairway or the tiny square mats that we can hardly keep our feet on when driving as they are too small for men using a driver.
At the end of the day, it is how well you hit your approach shot to a green whether from 150+ yards or from 60.

Men play off the same tees as each other and ladies play off the same tees as each other. That's the way it is. I have never hit a long ball and am often way behind the other ladies at my club, but we still all play off the same tees. I often find the ladies tees are not as well manicured as mens tees. With all the yellow tees moved to ladies lately will not help but ce la vie.
Still does not solve the issue of a fair competition between ladies and men when men are playing off the ladies tees. Some compensation should be given.

Ah but what about when a "lady" wins the longest drive...... But actually they started 50 yards in front of a man?
Therel'll always be swings & roundabouts but it's just a game ;-)

Just referring to golf scores not longest drive. Fair playing field and there is money involved. Simples

I agree with the ladies on this, but there are just some men in the tsg that just want an advantage at any cost.
