Hey everyone.
first of all, you may like to know, that Daniel (my son) was officially in remission mid April. Part from an operation in September to remove the line from his chest and a scan every 3 months for the next few years he is all better.
this all stopped my golf playing some what in December I pulled my back and was out for 6 months. With what the boy has been through I felt a little stupid mentioning it so just disappeared and recovered slowly. I'm still not 100% but I'm now at least playing after 6 months retirement.
when I came back my ability to hit a ball had left me. The drive I was so proud of had left me for a crying heap on every tee and was actually at the stage of looking at selling my clubs and everything. However some mates pulled me through and slowly it has come back. Although my handicap is probably lower than it was I am at least scoring back in the 30's regularly so I'm more or less back to pre injury standard.
i completed the Marsden March in March to continue to raise money for the Royal Marsden. I probably shouldn't have what with my back but it was only a 14 mile walk and being an ex infantryman I really didn't think it would be to bad and actually it was easy and did it in 3.5 hours and raised another £600.

Bloody iPad.
so that brings my total to over £4k now and I wouldn't be anywhere near that amount if it wasn't for the girls and guys who attended my golf day last September.
I'm not having one this year as I wasn't really sure I would be fit to do anything but next year I may look at a similar sort of thing.
i will of course be raising money for the royal Marsden until the day I die so I would like to do some sort of annual or biannual golf comp. hoping to get some pros on the next one.
Hope to see many of you soon. Especially the ladies. I miss ya all xx
