Hi All,

Over the last few months I have encountered IMHO (in my humble opinion) a number of less than polite Golf Pro's (see my The Wiltshire course review
) and it led me to wonder whether this is just my experience (or me!) and whether this was a common occurrence experienced by other TSGers.

Clearly as non-members, history tells us that 'nomads (like the majority of TSGers) have traditionally been treated as second class citizens and yet I continue to read that golf membership is in decline, clubs are losing money and that more and more golfers are turning to Pay and Play.....

With this in mind, surely clubs should be re training there staff (mostly golf Pro's) to take a fresh look at the way they treat us.

Perhaps TSGers could share their experiences (both good and bad) here and perhaps we can forward the responses to one of the golf mags, in the hope they may wish to print our views....

Ian

Very interesting thread Ian.... I, too, recently read an article about clubs hugely losing money and golfers turning to play and play....

I acually have another theory, but as I'm new here on this site, its prob best I don't put it!!  However, I do think some clubs are ridiculously expensive, but that is not the point in hand here....!!

On the subject you mentioned.... don't even get me started.....!!!  Penny

I agree with you Ian ,as you know I run a society on here and find that when booking most clubs are keen to take your booking, but I am afraid that when you turn up at most of the venues and start to deal with the Pro you in most cases are teated with contempt bordering on rudeness. I afraid that there are very few exception to this.
My 3 worst are: Seaford Head,  Ham Manor,  Dale Hill

My 3 best are: Sweetwood, Nizels, Pyecombe.

This is the pro shops, not the catering staff where I find a very different atitude
