Father O'Malley woke up one Sunday morning to an exceptionally beautiful spring day, and decided he simply had to play golf.
Her called up his associate Pastor and told him he was sick and would he hold Mass for him that day.
As soon as he had hung up, he headed for a golf course some 40 miles away, as he didn't want to run into anyone he might know.
At the course, he asked to play alone as he didn't want to explain to anyone why he wasn't in church.
He strolled to the first tee, and at this point, St Peter gave the Lord a nudge and said..'You're not going to let him get away with this are you'?
The Lord sighed and said..'No, I suppose not'.
Father O'Malley teed up his ball and took a mighty swing. The ball came off the driver like a cannon shot, straight and true, landed just short of the green, bounced on and rolled straight into the hole. A 420 yard hole-in-one. He jumped up and down with glee.
St Peter was dumfounded....'Why did you do allow that to happen' he asked..
The lord simply smiled and said....'Who's he going to tell?'
Ho Ho Ho.

Golfing quips of the Month... hmm there loads of golfing-related anecdotes, quips and jokes... and even some ones that are OK in polite and mixed society...
There are some as yet unwritten laws of Golf...
for example LAW 1 - No Matter how bad your last shot was - the worst is still yet to come. This law does not expire on the 18th since it has the almost supernatural tendency to persist throught a tournament, summer and eventually a lifetime...
