Dear TSGers,
With the start of the new season now just a few weeks away, we have had a record entry to this year's competition...
First name in the tie is the home player and therefore gets first dibs on course. However, be sensible guys & gals, don't make you opponent drive to your front door.Ties can be played at any time but must be completed by end of April. 2nd round draw will take place the 3rd week of April.
Please note, you will require three cards entered in the TSG system OR a valid CONGU handicap to be eligible.
So, the moment you've been waiting for...
Greg Butler 17 v David Johnson 12
Abe Rutherford 17 v Tim Culyer 22
Mark Crane 18 v Alex Ballard 22
Gareth Heath 12 v Charles Chan 15

I missed where to sign up for this. I noticed a mention of a mixed matchplay too - where do you put your name down for this sort of thing?

Hi Steve,
To be fair, this was trailed in both the January Newsletter and via TSG email on 12 Feb.
In addition, there has been a 'button link' running on the top right menu since Dec.
We also sent out a reminder last weekend advising of the deadline with links to the competition page.
Personally, given that we have four players on a BYE + a drop out in the 2nd placed tie this morinng, I would have no problem in you joining the fold at this late stage, however I will leave your fellow TSGers to decide on your inclusion........
e.g. You'll need to approach those players who have recieved a BYE and ask them if they would be happy to take you on OR I recommend you joining the group (see top right menu) and putting your case there (in the comment fields) - hopefully someone will be happy to accomodate you.
I hope that helps....
Kind Regards
Ian & The TSG Event Team

N.B. The reference to 'Mixed Matchplay' was in the March Newsletter and on the TSG blog pages and was in reference to this competition.

Steve. Abe Rutherford, who I was due to play in the 1st round has unfortunately had to withdraw. I don't have a problem with you replacing him. It's just a friendly competition after all. If the TSG hierarchy give their approval, then lets get in on! Tim

I didn't want to withdraw as i was looking forward to this matchplay comp but also didn't no you have to be a pro member as it does not mention this anywhere in the Comp Description.
Only Requirements needed are TSG Handicap or a CONGU Handicap.

Abe, if you would like to buy pro membership (which is worth every penny) and take part in the comp I am more than happy to step aside. Assuming that's OK with Ian fo course.
Let us know shortly because poor Tim needs to know who he's playing :)

To the people with byes,
I have been given permission to try to seek an opponent with a bye to allow me to play against them in the matchplay... So if you are feeling benevolent then please message me.... Matt
