Golf Forums - 2 Fore 1 now accepted at Canons Brook - Harlow, Essex

For best value - I've persuaded Canons Brook to accept 2 for 1 vouchers for TSG members (although the offer isn't restricted to TSG members).

Canons Brook - for those that don't know it - is situated in West Essex, and has some of the best groundsmen in the country.  Tee times are not required here, just turn up and go (although it's wise to check what is going on)..  There's ample parking, a good clubhouse (pot luck on early morning catering though).  Natives are friendly enough.  The course is in tip top condition at the moment and looks like it'll be good for the rest of the year (rarely closed even in the winter).

Henry Cotton - designed, recently updated in places, this is a good challenge for all levels and you can lose balls here or play a more conservative game and lose none.  Possibly the best last 5 closing sequence of holes and a great test of golf skills.  Not a difficult walking course, sublte elevation changes and some of the best greens in the UK await you.

This is a members club - but always welcoming to TSG members, great for society days.  Limited practice facilities but lots of space.  Weekends (twilights after about 1300)  for non-members from May to Oct, an ideal day out, arrive and enjoy Lunch before 18 holes of golf and then a drink in the bar.

Usual Green fees about £33.00 each... (still good value)... 2 for 1 vouchers make it much better value.

I shall be posting games at Canons Brook - starting again sometime during May - watch this space - point taken about starting after 1030hrs... which shouldn't be an issue - just a case of avoiding other groups playing on the day.
