As previously advertised the Canons Brook Open competition was blessed by near-perfect weather conditions (just a tad warm) and a course that had been prepared to the same high usual standards.  4-ball better ball competition with about 100 golfers teeing off at a shotgun start 0900 (or shortly thereafter).

Course providing the same challenge (Tough) with near perfect greens running rather quickly.  Friendly locals and a well organised event.  18 holes of golf followed by 2 course lunch (complimentery drink)  made this a great day out.  TSG ably represented with a couple of pairs, and although I had to leave before the prize giving I will ask the other attendees to give their own views on the day (cost £20.00 per person  for everything must be good value).

All in all - a good day out (not too slow either) fine golf in places, and good standard cuisine in a friendly clubhouse.  Planned again for next year... this is a good test of golf and a good tune up in advance of the TSG Open in July.

I think all who attended had a good day out but let them speak for themselves.  For the record I managed to lose 5 balls today...

Had a great day here. Nice place with friendly staff, good food, free drinks half way, members very welcoming. In all a great event, well organised. The course was challenging but well laid out, nice bunkers as i found out most often!. Didnt play well but not bad enough to receive the wooden spoon, that embrassment went to a member pair. Other guests did win from a long list of prizes.
I was paired with funny man Carlos and a couple of members (Dave & Keith).
Cheers Steve for the invite, put me down again for next year!
