Hi TSGers,

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to the TSG members who came along and supported my Celebrity Charity Golf Day on Wednesday 22nd July at Deangate Ridge GC and, also to Damian Benstead for sending me a few tickets to The London Golf Show, (15th-17th November at Bluewater), for use as prizes on the day.

The day was absolutely fantastic from my point of view.....

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves hugely, going by the feedback I have had by way of emails, phone calls and other messages. After registration, breakfast and free goody bags, the day started with our Team Texas Scramble Competition over 9 holes, the winners & Runners up mainly being made up of Dartford Cabbies, with my team emerging to defend our title from last year with a net 27 shots, our prize being a Fourball at Willingdon GC.

Next, after a filling Ploughman's Lunch, it was on to the putting green for the Putting Competition over 6 testing holes. The game was won with 10 shots including two 1 putts by Tony Caulfield, a rookie to the golf day. The runners up with 11 shots, (3 of them), included our own David Allchorne and Ian Mullins, who both received a sleeve of Pro V1 Golf Balls.

So onto the main action of the day, the Individual Stableford Competition over 18 holes....

Everyone chipped in and bought 4 mulligans to help their game, with the top 3 taking the prizes. Last place went to my 4 time Champion who doubled his best score with 20 points but still came last, only losing out by 1 shot to Mr. Mullins, (maybe next year Ian).

In 3rd & 2nd were an Aussie and a cabbie and in 1st place was our rookie, again, who shot 46 points off of a 15 handicap. He was met with several playful jeers and comments from the baiting crowd but he vowed to come back next year and defend his title, albeit off a much reduced handicap.

The prizes between the winners & losers included A Ping Umbrella, Hat & Towel, £100 of GolfBreaks.com gift vouchers, a Two-ball at The Hertfordshire Golf & Country Club & a golf ball mug and egg cup for my 4 time losing champ.

After a lovely 3 course meal, Raffle and Mini Auction, we should end up raising close to £500, when all the money has been collected in, which will be shared between The Grand Order of Water Rats Charity and a local animal shelter which is very close to my heart as we have 3 of their rescue cats.

The one aim I have is that everyone goes home with a prize and that was achieved this year by way of slight manipulation of the last couple of raffle prizes. JOB DONE!!

I hope more of you will come along next year, it really is a lovely day and you will go home with a smile on your face, I promise!! My next one will be in October sometime, so keep a look out on the events page in the near future, if you fancy it.

Once again, Thank You, One & All.

All The Best,

Mark.

Hi Mark,

Alas, I haven't had time to thank you personally yet but I must....

You certainly know how to run a golf day and I had the pleasure of meeting some lovely people.

I thoroughly deserve the public humiliation of only scoring 6 pts on the back nine - only losing out on the wooden spoon by one -  but I did redeem myself by beating the Pro from 147 yards...... easily!

You deserve a big pat on the back for all your efforts, although I am not sure what I am going to do with the Rory McIIroy signed picture frame you convinced me to buy in the auction yet but I am admiring it from the boot of my car for now.

Look forward to attending the next one!

Regards

Ian

 Hi Mark

What a fantastic day, I really enjoyed my golf, great golfing partners and I got to meet Jess Conrad who I must say at nearly 80 is in great form.

Looking forward to the next one

Kind regards
