Hi All,

I just wanted to share my thoughts with anyone who's coming or thinking of coming to The Par 3 Championship at Pedham Place on 22nd August...

I spent a thoroughly pleasant Sunday afternoon with our leader, Mr. Mullins at Pedham.

Firstly, the food was great, especially the portion of chips we shared, there must have been close to what seemed like a sack of spuds, cooked to perfection.

Then we enjoyed 9 holes on the Par 3 Course, surveying all the different options for how best to get down in par or less. The holes are all deceivingly testing. What seems like quite an innocuous 97 yard hole, turns out to be anything but... wind conditions, slopes on the greens, well-placed bunkers and established trees, there's plenty to get in the way of landing that ball straight on the "dance floor".

The greens are excellent and well looked after; I have played on several courses, this year, which don't come close to the quality of these. A lot of the holes have raised sides from the tee to the green which gives the impression of being in an amphitheatre, you could imagine all the crowds parked up on the verges, cheering as your ball comes to rest 6 inches from the pin, although I never managed to do that today.

I was happy with my performance, 5 over, although I couldn't match Ian's game, who was only 3 over, including one birdie; his putting was on fire, only missing one putt over 6 foot plus.

To sum up, this is a great Par 3 Course with separate tee positions for the front & back 9's, it's well worth a visit on its own and very worthy of being the venue for our Championship.

So, sign up and come along and have a different day's golf on the 22nd August, I look forward to seeing you there!!

The longest hole, according to the card, is the 13th, which is 186 yards. Check out the Pedham Place course on here as I have added the Par 3 course to the scorecards. www.thesocialgolfer.com/...seScorecard.aspx?id=3097
