Hi,

Just read that golf is trying to get into the olympics for 2016. The R&A and the USPGA are presenting to the olympics board soon. Does that mean professional golfers will represent their countries. I thought the olympics was about amateurs. They were quick to get rid of "Eddie the Eagle" as not good enough and embarrasing but at least he was a true amateur doing his best. It makes a mockery of the olympics with these high paid people joining in like the olympic tennis has become.

regards

Steve

Well said Steve totally agree that it should be for amateurs only anything else makes a mockery of the Olympic movement,

Guess they will at the very least won't apperance money, just like the tennis players.

Whats wrong in keeping these sports totally for amateurs anyway

I think it will come true so soon:

The Golf, is actively seeking to enter the Olympic Games. During this year's World Cup, called a "Golf should enter the Olympics," the film in the cycle of on-site golf World Cup play. Mission Hills to participate in the competition to many of the players, although not as well as to participate in the competition but around the world have a wider impact on the "Tiger" Woods and others have expressed in the short film "in support of golf into the Olympics" attitude.

Golf World Cup as the "Olympics of golf community," but due to the 2012 London Olympics have been identified will not be included in the Olympic Games will be golf, so golf to enter the Olympic Games, the earliest in 2016 the count.

Best regards

It would be a shame if it was accepted as it would be just another event on the golfing calendar. (unless Pros were excluded of course).
