As a regular player and organiser of the Tsg it is unfortunate that I have encountered a few No Shows. I have had to pay for some of these games up front (and today paid for a no show), and find no excuse if anyone cant make it on the day to at least leave a message on the site, it's a shame but I will now only put games up for friends only that I have played with before or vetted.
Or has anyone got any other ideas to rid of this problem.
You know who you are ( not mentioning names) so take a thought for others, sorry to have to bring this up but I feel very strongly about this

Hi David,
We were very disappointed to read your posting.....
To be fair to you, this is such bad manners and the height of poor golfing etiquette or any etiquette for that matter!
However, please do not tarnish all the great TSGers out there as a result of the odd bad apple as there are many TSGers that love joining your games. And it would be a shame to let this incident spoil theirs and your experience.
Please email us directly (theteam@thesocialgolfer.com) with the name of the person in question and we will happily advise them of the conduct and of what has become known is 'The Spirit of TSG'.
In the meantime, many thanks for bringing up the issue....
Kind Regards
Ian & The TSG Team

Its simple once you have joined and committed to play -you have to pay even if you don't turn up unless you have given enough notice. Regards Brian

That can only happen if there is a penalty for not paying up - ie a blacklist, which then could make this a 'not so social' golfing site.
Think DJ has probably done the right thing, just means you have to be a friend, and the day you are a no show who costs him money, you will no longer be a friend.
This is all about being polite and proper with the rest of the members on the site. If I sign up and then don't turn up, I'd expect to have to pay if the tee was booked and payed for.

As you all know I place lots of games on TSG.
I’ve only been let down once by someone not paying me.
So I removed him from my friends list (He know who he is) and he knows he doesn’t join any of my games.
Because I book so many games through tee times. Tee times gave me the green fee back, this is only because quantity of games I book and it was a one off refund. So I was not out of pocket this time.
I’ve try the PayPal route it doesn’t work for me so it cash on the day. No cheques or change.
I know people take the P*** out of my 48 rule, but it seem to work for me, even with the spelling & grammar mistakes.
So I’m with you John on this one and Dave keep on booking.
Play more golf Ed

I have regularly hosted games at my club and lucky that my guests don't have to pay in advance but I have always been fortunate to have good manners if somone could not make it by calling or sending a text.
With regard to those of you who pay in advance and I know there are a lot of you, I take my hat off to you as not only is the organisation of games time consuming and very kind of you, you should not be treated with such disrespect that the no show does not a) have the decency to contact you, or the club and b) does not pay. Yes - remove them from your friends list but guys and girls out there - come on - pay your way, unless there is someone who can take your place. Simples!

The latest update on the No-Shows.
The same person who didn't show up at DJ's Golf Day has, today, not showed up at my Autumn Golf Day at Upchurch GC and with no explanation. His last message to me on the event page was on 7th Sept, saying he was looking forward to the event and that he would see me on the day.
Again, it is totally unfair as breakfast and dinner had been ordered for this person and went totally to waste, having to be paid for in advance. As a result, I will report this to Ian and let him decide the best course of action to take as this person cannot go on letting people down.
I have now removed him from my "Friends" list, I suggest everyone else do the same.
Regards.
