The admin team have noticed the site becoming noticably slower over the last 6-8 weeks - coincident with the massive growth in the popularity of our community (so I guess as problems go it's a nice one to have...).

Luckily the quality of our site means that the issue is easily resolved by upgrading the servers on which the site is managed. So this is what we are going to do.

The upgrade process is still to be scheduled but, rather than taking the entire site down for an extended period, we're going to migrate bit by bit over a 48 hour period.

So, we'll post again when it's starting but, please bear with us because during the 48 hour upgrade the site may appear slow (you may be pointing at the old server which then has to transfer your request to the new server etc). But once complete you will definitely notice the difference.

Finally, please note that you will not have to change anything on your personal machine.

As previously advised the upgrade has now started and will take, approx, 24 hours to complete.

The purpose of doing it over an extended period is to minimise disruption and the way we are doing it should mean no impact on the community so please, if you see a problem, tell us about it immediately.

Should be all done now, everyone should be running on the new servers so faster, faster, faster...

Thanks for your patience.
