As the title says, I have givcen in and joined a local golf club!

I figure that I will trial it for a year to see if it works out for me, or even if it doesn't whether a different package would. It has been a long time coming delayed mainly due to loving this website.

Unfortunately things are not spreading down this direction quite as much as hoped, so I can only guarantee a game if I drive an hour or so, and I just want to cut that down a bit.

All of that said, I have no intention on giving up on the TSG, in fact I still intend to play as many games as I sensibly can.

It's good to have different friends in different places, and I still love and prefer to play different courses. All of the reasons we join TSG in the first place.

Of course, what it does mean that if anyone ever wants to travel down to the south coast and play Littlehampton Golf Course, I will be able to sign people in as guests at preferred rates.

Mostly this would need to be weekends but the odd weekday round could be achieved.

So if you ever fancy it, please get in touch.

Wishing you all the best as a Club Member, its advantages, friendships etc.... very glad to hear that TSG will still be part of your golfing life and that you woll support our big events, but I totally understand your decision.

See you soon, Steve,

Best of luck with the club membership - I'll be sure to give you a shout next time I am close to the south coast.

Thanks guys.

All are welcome anytime.

It's a year trial as far as I am concerned and I paid for it with a work bonus, so technically free!

Ian, it is Littlehampton Golf Club......Littlehampton......repeat after me :o)

Strangely I seem to be booked in for more TSG games now than I have been for a while but now I also have options.

See you soon.

Steve: another benefit is that you will have a CONGU handicap which will open doors to lots of Opens, Mixed Competitions etc...,So very useful...
Enjoy being a new member, you get spoiled a little at the beginning, and will get a lot of attention.
A bientot

Steve,

Well I guess if you will run around naked playing golf in this weather, Littlehampton is quite appropriate!

Good luck, hope you enjoy it, and the handicap starts to come down.

David

Welcome to my world. Being a club member is great. You will get to know every bounce and remember the course will always have a go at beating you but enjoy the challenge. You will get to meet members and enjoy new banter and invite your naked pals from TSG for games. Look forward to seeing you again soon. Jude

As Brigitte has said Steve, this allows you to gain a CONGU Handicap which will allow you to play more tournament golf. My club handicap is 16.9 so within a shot of my society handicap. I think competition golf is good for all players it sharpens you up, Stableford is fun but can make you lazy with putting and knowing the rules of golf. good luck with your new club!
