WHAT IS IT?
Spring/Summer 2009 Golf tournament based on 6 monthly ‘Qualifying’ rounds building up to a ‘Grand Final’ in July 09 (course to be advised) with golf, prizes and lots of fun. Contact Neil Williams for more detail.
WHO CAN PLAY
The tournament is open to all golfers, male and female, who have joined the Crown Golfers Group and comply with the handicap requirements (so Join The GroupToday...).
HANDICAPS
To enter the tournament you must have either a current handicap issued by your golf club (if a member) or you must use the handicap calculation system on TSG to ‘prove’ a fair playing handicap.
The maximum accepted handicaps will be 28 for men and 36 for ladies.
No matter what handicap you start with your tournament scores must be entered into TSG and TSG will recalculate your handicap for use in subsequent tournament games (even those who started with a valid club handicap) ie TSG will be used to adjust player’s handicaps up & down through the tournament.
THE GAMES
Qualifying events ( ie playing for a chance to get a place in the Grand Final ) will be posted under the Crown Golfers Group. I will be posting at least 2 qualifying events each month but any game posted within the Crown Golf Group by any Crown Golf Group member will count as a qualifying game, so you can decide when you want to play – midweek or weekends.
Scoring is Stableford with FULL Stroke Allowance.
The use of buggies is permitted where they are available for hire.
Caddies are permitted (the competitor is responsible for his / her caddie’s actions).
The use of GPS range finding equipment is permitted.
TIES AND COUNTBACKS
In the case of a tied result in a qualifying event the result will be decided on a count back over the last 9, 6, 3, 2, 1 holes.
CROWN GOLFERS LEADERBOARD
Leaderboard points are awarded for each Qualifying Event on the basis of 50 points to the winner, 40 for 2nd, 30 for 3rd and then 25, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12 & 10 points for 10th place. So, play more Qualifying Events and win more points !
The ‘Winner’ and ‘Runner Up’ on the Leaderboard as at the 28th of each month (from January - June 09) will automatically qualify for the Tournament Grand Final
