 Hi Guys,

I am a Malaysian Golfer who will be in UK next month. I will be visiting Cornwall and Ediburgh for the 1st time and would love to have a round each there.

I was looking at cornwall and wanted to play St Enodoc but I was advised to go to Carlyn Bay instead due to transportation issue. Please advise if anyone knows about these courses.

I will be also in scotland but as most of the courses there need to be booked months in advanced, I was hoping to play a nice links course not too far from NEW TOWN.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rizal,

I haven't played in Cornwall yet but I have heard a lot of talk about St.Mellion and Trevose.

Scotland, I have had the pleasure of playing Troon (hard!) but I think you can safely say, you will not be disappointed or be lacking for choice wherever you go.

In addition, there are plenty of courses that you can just turn up at.

Myabe some fo the other TSGers can advise better....

 Hello & welcome to The Social Golfer

I spent 4,days in Ayrshire, South West of Edinburgh and Dumfries, last week .

One is spoilt for choice from cheap municipal courses to top of "must play " and some very friendly & affordable Members Clubs.

Played Powfoot (Dumfries), Dundonald & Belleisle,,it was all a bit rushed but we managed to get tee times by ringing in the morning.  We stayed in Prestwick & Castle Douglas.

The warm & sunny weather added to our enjoyment so did the welcome by the Scottish people.  Whisky is not bad either....
