Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer and Thomas Pieters are Darren Clarkes wildcards has Clarke missed a trick not picking Andrew 'Beef' Johnson? I think Clarkes friendship with Westie has made him blinkered, the Ryder Cup needs characters so does golf. I love Westie but think 'Beef' would have added interest?

Not sure I agree Paul....
Beef is still only 26 and has only won one comp (this year). I agree he would add some real flavour to the event and the Americans love him, which would add to the viewing figures.
However, when you compare the experience and 'teem spirit' Westwood and Kaymer would add, it outshines what Beef would bring and you can't argue with Pieters given his form - his day will come!
In his owns words on Friday at Bluewater he said "I wouldn't pick me!"

Great picture Ian...I'm just a bit worried the Poulter factor is missing?
Beef or Lowry might have given that? Or do we just need a player with a beard??
Westie is a steady Eddie these days, but maybe he will be the anchor we need...just thinking out loud :)

I know what you mean but the good news is that Poulter is a Vice-Captiain, so rest assured he'll been even more motivated as he's not playing..... Andy Sullivan has a beard! :O)
