Dear TSGers,

Here's a Press Release that we received from one of our golf industry friends earlier today, so we thought we'd share it with you all. Sounds like there is some good deals to be had in this part of the world at the moment....

Anyone got any tips or advice on where to Stay & Play in this region?

Golfing in Murcia...

Four legendary golfers,
Severiano Ballesteros, José María Olazábal, Arnold Palmer and, arguably the greatest ever, Jack Nicklaus, have each designed or redesigned courses in the Region of Murcia - and, with prices from as little as £128 per person, per week, in April, you'd be really ‘teed off' if you went anywhere else.

With 22 top-quality courses in a radius of 50km, few areas in Europe can rival the quality and scope on offer.

Boasting a wide array of championship courses and Europe's flagship resort, La
Manga Club, Murcia offers some of the best-value green fees on the Mediterranean.

Guests can take advantage of more than 300 holes and enjoy the challenge of playing a selection of layouts created by some of golf's biggest names.

The region's Nicklaus Golf Trail features six varied and different 18-hole courses - Mar
Menor, La Torre, El Valle, Alhama, Saurines and Riquelme - and La Serena provides a good test for golfers of all abilities. While Hacienda Del Alamo has quickly become a popular destination for travelling golfers since opening in 2004.

Complementing the outstanding golf facilities are an array of other sports and leisure activities and, with the region enjoying an average 315 days sun a year and featuring the Mar
Menor - Europe's largest saltwater lagoon - it is the ideal destination for a sporting break.

What's more, with tee-times in April starting at just €34 at the picturesque Lorca Golf, in the foothills of the Almenara mountain range, a week's golfing will never be more accessible.

Situated in the centre of the city of Murcia, 100m from the gardens of Floridablanca, the three-star Pacoche Murcia hotel provides the perfect base to explore the region's many golfing, and cultural, delights.

A week's stay at the
Pacoche Murcia, from April 15, costs €255.80, based on two people staying in a twin room on a room-only basis.

Access to the Costa Cálida, Region of Murcia, is simple as it is served by Murcia-San Javier airport all year round, while Alicante airport is also nearby.

Both airports are served by numerous airlines flying from a wide variety of UK and Irish airports and flights in April cost from just £81 one way.

Can't help with any information, and can't do 7 nights but if anyone fancies trying the area out for a weekend later in the year, I'm happy to give it a go.
Cheers Ian.

I've visited La Finca Resort and Las Ramblas in Murcia, which I would happily recommend - as have you Steve!

Although I would say the latter is one of the more difficult course I've ever played....
