Dear TSGers (and Epping Bandits),
As you know we are currently updating the course pages, rewriting course desciptions etc and we wondered if anyone can eloborate on the relationship between Royal Epping Forest and Chingford GC...
There are two seprate websites but both seem to have a similar history but indivdual clubhouses?
Are they the same course but two seperate clubs or the same club/course?
Any help much appreciated....

The course used to have a 'red' outer clothing requirement based on some historical somesuch. This has now been removed, no need to wear red now. The Royal Epping 'clubhouse' is the cafe building across the road from the first tee. It is a publicly available cafe, under new ownership. Limited parking space behind the cafe. Looks like some maintenance on the course has been ongoing as well.

David is no doubt the font of all knowledge regards Royal Epping. Steve's point regarding the wearing of red shirts and tops is still in force on Wimbledon Common which is shared by the London Scottish and Wimbledon Common clubs who operate out of separate clubhouses. The rationale being that the land is common land, the public have right of way ahead of golfers and the golfers have to wear red so that they can be seen clearly by the public. A massive earner for the pro who hires out the appropriate red clothing to the uninformed. Cheers Michael
