 The link below explains the plans to introduce a new world golf handicap system and the reasons for doing so, the changes seem to be congruent with the CONGU changes implemented this January.


It looks like the main aim is to bring more people into the game even if they have a high handicap.

One suggestion for the handicap, is it would calculate your handicap based on your best 8 rounds out of the last 20 rounds, more info from  the link below.

On the whole I think this is a great move.

All recreational rounds to be counted, that sounds oddly familiar ;)

Max handicap of 54! If you score under 136 per round you can compete against a scratch golfer! I wish they'd had that when I started.
