Hi all,
Hoping for a heads up... Just moved from the North East down to Berkshire with a new role at work, I'm very much a 'golf nut' and intend to soak up what the area has to offer golfwise before hopefully joining somewhere as a member.
I do enjoy the perks of being a member, as in weekly/often competitions etc; so this is the goal eventually. In the immediate future however, I am keen to sample different courses and hopefully meet a new golfing social circle so to speak. Can anyone advise on any good societies that could be worth speaking to or courses and clubs that have a widespread social aspect, also? Whilst I find my feet in this new area it would be good to meet people of similar golfing interests for my time outside of work!
I'm 28 years old and play off a 12 handicap. I have made friends of all ages and abilities through golf and I'm at ease playing with anyone. I just love the game.
Thanks in advance!
James

Hi James, you could always try Bunkers Golf Society who play around the Berkshire area, i'm sure that they would have all the relevant information that you need. Sorry but not clever enough to put up a link so you will just have to type it into google. Hope this is of some help.

Hi James,
Welcome to The Social Golfer, we ARE the biggest golf society!
However, we have many society groups on the site for you to join too.
We have games nearly every day of the week for you to join and 4 Major tournaments each year (see Join events page).
You'll find we're a friendly bunch, so feel free to ask questions.

Which part of Berkshire ... I'm right near Heathrow, just on the tip of Berkshire
If you're the other side I could list a few places as played regularly

Hi James
I live in Reading and am looking for people to play regular rounds with, what’s your availability like for midweek or weekends?

Hi Steve,
We would like to extend you the same welcome as we gave James.... if you are looking for golfers, you are in the right place!
However, please note the TSG forum is not the place for make Game/Event arrangements or connections with other members - this can be done via the Joint Events on the main menu or via TSG email.
Firtsly, as this is a public forum and we would not want any of your perosonal data being shared in a public space.
And secondly, it would be unfair on those members that have pay their annual membership fees each year, for non PRO members to circumnavigate this membership fee by arranging events via the forum pages
However, the good news, is that from April 2018, ALL TSG PRO account holders will receive a FREE round of golf ( courtesy of our site partner Crown Golf) with every PRO membership subscription for £29.98 pa.
Of course, if none of this is clear or you would like us to clarify anything elese regarding how the site works, please email us via the Contact Us page or call us on the office no. provided on the same page
You'll find we're a friendly bunch, so feel free to ask questions.
Happy golfing!
