Hi Chaps,
Alas, email delivery is the bane of a website developers life!
Rest assured, we have checked, double-checked and triple-checked and we are NOT listed on any email blacklists and have recently re-submitted all our server details to Google, Hotmail, Outlook, Live etc.
Here's some tips if you are still having trouble:
1 - Check your spam file - if its there, move it to NOT SPAM
2 - Add theteam@thesocialgolfer.com to your pre-approved/safe/trusted email list
3 - Add theteam@thesocialgolfer.com to your contact list
And finally, if you are still having issues, email us at theteam@thesocialgolfer.com and we'll try to help

All 3 steps you have mentioned were already in place from the previous problems. Would it help if I changed my email account? Just an idea.

Me too. All steps already in place. There was a respcent update to my Apple software, I wonder if that’s the cause of the issue and if the others are using IPads/ iPhones too?

Hi all,
Alas, it wont be anything to do with Apple updates or Windows 10 etc.
Although we can't be sure, we suspect we may be in 'quarantine' with some email provides e.g. hotmail, gmail etc. Because of the hack in January (wherebty they used our server to send out spam emails - no personal data was lost and at no teime was your personal data accessed or under threat).
It may be that we are having to prove our reputation' again. Sadly, this is a huge issue for an email based platform, as the email providers (understandbly) are trying to crack down on the real spammers.
Lee - Please try changing your email address and lets see if that works for you...
Finally, we would ask you to contact your email providrs regaing the issue, and see if they can help shed any light on the matter.
We'll keep doing all we can to resolve the problems as best we can.

Hi all, just done a test with Ian and l what l thought l had done corretly was not the case. I added the TSG email address into my contacts but did not go directly into my email provider (Gmail) to do it. Once the TSG email was added into the contacts going directly into the Gmail settings, a test email via TSG came through ok.
On need to change your email address, just go into your providers setting a addfrom there.

Hi Ron,
Thanks for giving up your time to help us get this sorted. As demonstrated its a 2 min fix and you immediately started receiving updates.
However, I do agree gmail doesn't make it easy and it can be confusing if you have not done this before, what it hopefully demonstartes is that its not an issue with our servers. (phew!)
As discussed, I will now put a step by step guide together for both Gmail and Hotmail/Outlook/Live as this are main guilty parties.

Funny thing is that the notifications about unread messages on TSG come through but the notifications that someone joined the game don’t.... Why is it so selective?

Nothing coming through to Yahoo either (I did get the newsletter, but zero of the usual notifications for the past week or so)
More than odd that all the major providers are blocking TSG e-mails, especially with the rubbish that does get through.
Definitely not going into my Spam either!

Hi All,
Alas, there does not seem to be any 'ryhme or reason' to the filtering of emails either to spam files or emails being blocks completely.
HOWEVER, we have a 'cunning plan'.....
In order to improve our reputation (which we beleive is excellent!) we have concluded that one thing that may help us all, is if as many of us as possible, add theteam@thesociagolfer.com address to your Contacts List.
As such, we've put together a step-by -step guide by provider to help you. Click on the link below....
ADDING TSG TO YOUR EMAIL CONTACT LIST
So far we have performed this work alround with FIVE individuals TSGers in the last 24 hours with a 100% success rate. Any problems, email us at the usual address or call us in the office on 01277 200207

Ian,this how I got mine to work.
Searched Google Contacts
Signed into Google (it shows all your email contacts)
Pressed the big Red + button (you can't miss it)
A new box appears to add a new email address in.
It seems to be ok now. Easy-peasey,lemon-squeezy

You wait for 1 email notification to come along and then....loads come through at the same time. All sorted now. Thanks TSG team x

Dunno what happened on the server side of things, but it's just coughed up a load of notifications to my Yahoo mail, and I hadn't bothered with any of the suggested fixes.
So, something is working again thankfully!
