The 100th PGA Championship - ruined....
We cancelled our subscription this morning after signing up on Friday on a 7-day free trial having spent most of Friday evening watching it buffering on my mobile (couldn't work out how to broadcast to our TV) gave up, didn't watch any of the golf at weekend, so who won... certainly not the viewers!
What the hell were the USPGA thinking!

I watched it on my ipad and desk top and found the streaming absolutely fine, but like most people i cancelled it straight after so not really sure what they were looking to achieve really

I watched most of it, will be cancelling tonight, had to stream via my mobile as at Mother in laws who does not have good broadband, managed to get through 12GB data on my mobile watching which was not good.
Yes its it's a shame that it was not on another channel, I thought it was on sky until the day before, the theory is that they were trying to engage the younger generation who use Social Media. The date for the PGA will change next season, meaning the British Open will be the last major in the future, hopefully they will sort out a good TV deal that is accessible to more people.
Never been a lover of pay per view, however I make an exception and usually take out a limited subscription when the golf majors are on.
It it was great to see Tiger firing on all cyclinders again yesterday, I think he is in with a shout for winning a major in 2019, the sport is in a better place with him back in the mix.
Sorry you missed it Ian, I think you need to have a word with your broadband provider and a winge at the USPGA. I just noticed the Guardian has run an article about complaints from viewers trying to watch Eleven Sports, it looks like you were not the only one who missed it.

Load of rubbish by Eleven Sports - I ended up finding a stream of the US coverage on Sunday night which was much better quality. The launch on Thursday was a total shambles.
I don't think they'll get the rights to anything of any consequence again. They used the PGA Championship as a bit of publicity for something that I don't expect will last more than 12 months.
The more interesting stuff will happen in (I think) 2020, when Sky's rights to the PGA Tour expire and they go to Discovery instead. I think they'll still work with Sky Sports, but we might find that we get a much better online/mobile experience. Imagine it'll stay on "proper" TV as well.
I think Eleven Sports misjudged the audience with this one. TV golf fans don't tend to be of an age where they want to read/write on a chat alongside online only coverage. Fine if they have it alongside decent TV coverage to attract a younger audience, but a poor effort this time round.

This is the PGA/Discovery stuff - turns out the Sky deal lasts until 2022, so they've got a while to figure things out! https://www.theguardian....ses-sky-sports-discovery
