I use spikeless most of the year, but from around end of November through to mid March change over to Footjoy boots because of mainly the waterproof qualities (but that only lasts for around 15 months!), but they also stop slipping.

Spikes for me, any day due to grip, which I believe will always be slightly better than spike-less

Questions to ask yourself
Where do you play hilly or flat courses, is your course prone to holding water on the fairways, if more hilly and softer course conditions I would favour spikes

When do you play, summer only, or summer and winter, summer only maybe get away with spike-less

Can you afford two pairs? If so buy a set of each

Cheers guys to be fair only just started back.

I could afford 2 pairs if having summer and winter pair. Would mean saving for them.

I play on a budget all my stufs secand hand ect

I find that 2 or more pairs of shooes tend to last lonegr than 1 pair at a time.

I use spiked shoes when the ground is soft/wet and soft spikes for harder ground.  I have used spikeless shoes (which were waterproof) and found them a bit slippery in the wet...

It does very much depend of what suits you best...
