Welcome new people. It's good to see more people joining, but.........

Will you please tell us (roughly) where you are based

...as all we get is that a new member has joined in our are. The problem is, is that area could be anywhere inside a 50 mile radius of central London.

You could find that doing this will get you an invite to your first game.

Look forward to meeting you...but let us know where you are!

Unfortunately John I believe it is an automated message created by the system,  most seem to join and fill in the initial page then never pay to become a pro member.

I believe this is a great platform for recreational golfers to play golf as casual or serious as you want without the outlay of joining a club.
It is crying out for some marketing but may then become to big to handle on a sideline basis and may require full time staffing pushing prices up. But if they would only give it a go most would love it,

it's only the price of a round of golf which you get back in a voucher.

Actually Andrew, my point was aimed at the fact that we have people joining and not actually stating where they are from. They could be anywhere in the UK and we'd still get the 'close to you' email.

It's polite I think, for them to at least give us a town/city, don't you?

 To John Turnbull:
Yes indeed TSG is great platform indeed and having grown “organically” over the years , it is here to stay NOT like many other companies who did “overmarket” and have not lasted a wink!!!!!

and John Barber:
Yrs you are right, your point was to get the location, nothing to do with Marketing and automated messages!

Vive LevTSG and its “organic”

My name is Andrew.  If the message letting us know someone in our area has joined is not automated then the fault lies with whoever sent it,  in my opinion it is automated and most new joiners put their location in their profile.

my point about marketing had nothing nothing to do with Johns post, yes their is a John, but is my thoughts about growing the platform if the owners wish too or not is their choice, sometimes more work is not worth it and may require more staff,  but it is my opinion to which I am entitled,

Hi all new joiners,

Please don’t hesitate to join games near you or even further afield, post games where you like to play.

The first step can be a bit daunting  BUT trust me you won’t look back and will only say “why didn’t I do that sooner!”.

I have been a member since 2011, we are a very friendly golfing crowd, you will make lots of new golf friend.

A lot of golf societies run their games via The Social Golfer “TSG”  too, a very good 'social' platform indeed.

Regards

Brigitte

Hi my 2nd comment was deleted ? I can’t post a game or message individuals? Is that because I have to pay to become a pro member !

Hello Billy

Correct. To post a game you need to be a member, then you will also be able to record your scores and that will lead to a TSG handicap.

Many people have been members for years, and it's great to meet new and old friends alike. Join us and get that chance as well. You'll always be welcome at games.
