Hi all,
It's that time of the year where it's that bit colder and it's certainly been wetter of late. My question is what are the best winter tracks; courses which are not boggy in the winter and have good greens?
I'm starting this thread as, a) It's a question my group discuss on a weekly basis during winter, b) I think it would be a useful information for other TSG members.
My list...
- Southern Valley - Kent
- Pedham - Kent
- Epsom - Surrey
- Coulsdon Manor - Surrey - played here at the weekend, and although it rained the greens were good, fairways were OK'ish.
- Gogg Magog - Cambridge - Not played, but hear it drains well as it's built on chalk
What courses would you recommend?

The Dyke in Sussex,
The only restriction is there's currently no buggies allowed.

And if only it had a golf course in its hallowed halls and roofing 😆
Anyway Mr T, also consider Toot Hill and Cranham which both have great drainage and are this side of the QE2 bridge 👍
