Well today i witnessed the first Hole in ONE.
After over 15 years of playing golf !!!!
So Today 30th November at Milford golf club Playing the New par 3 15th.
Approx 110 yards to the pin Down hill.
Mark O neil set himlef up. A pitching wedge in his hand.
Myself, Debbie and Andy stood either side waiting.
Mark hit the Ball, a CRISP SOUND ERUPTED FROM his club.
We looked on and admired the shot each one of us thinking BLOODY HELL this is close.
The Ball was on dead line for the flag it pitched next to the flag, AND With some BACK SPIN, YES YOU GUESSED IN THE HOLE.
WELL DONE MARK.

hole in one what are the odds?
This would be different for every player, some have played for 40years 2 times a week, still no luck, so far there odds would be , 40x52x2 x4 which gives 16640 ( 40 years, 52 weeks, 2 games per week, 4 par 3 per game) and still no luck!!!!
I can tell you my odds since my last ,hole in one, 30th march 19, i have played148 games, so x4 give 592 to 1
Now i may never get another, but all you can do is keep hitting balls, the more you play the better your chance, and it helps if you can hit it straight, well at lest some of the time, you can tell, i am not playing today !!!! but its back to work tomorrow, by the way the sun is out, bye for now roger

Finally!!!
After playing ten years or so ago with the brother, then a week later playing with a Saturday morning partner, seeing BOTH of them binning a ball in a hole in one, it was my turn today to pop the ball in the cup on Redbourns 4th hole......saw it all the way to the green, going straight at the pin and when it appeared to have stopped, bent down to pick up the tee to have both my partners shouting that it was in the hole. Don't mind missing the final drop, but the £90 bar bill is something the insurance company are going to have to refund - yes it was a legitimate Friars competition.
Feels bloody great!!!!!!!!!!!!🏌

After 38 years+ of trying, I finally achieved my dream,
MY VERY OWN HOLE IN ONE!!
Today, 30th August, 2024, at The Darenth, 7th Hole - 122 yards.
An uphill Par 3, for those that have not played it, I hit my ball just slightly left of the flag with my 7 Iron, it took one bounce and then disappeared onto the green. At this point I had no idea where the ball had landed in proximity to the flag.
I then made my way to the green to find my ball not there, the first thing that came into my head was I had gone long, over the back, but, as I passed the hole, there it was, looking up at me, "I'm here I'm here".
I went mental, running round the green like a headless chicken screaming, "YEESSSSSS!!!!"
Scouser Bob joined in my celebrations and we laughed so much.
Definitely The Best Feeling Of My Golfing Life.
I can die a happy man!

My round was £7.50 including the members discount. Those in the bar kept wanting to buy me a drink so who was I to complain.

I forgot to mention my hole in one, at the modified 2nd hole, par 3 at stapleford abbots. Just a 3/4 dink over water with my old 7 iron for 120 ysrds. Elevated tee so I saw the ball into the hole, the rest of the 4 ball weren't watching and the group ahead were oblivious. It was 1 good shot in an otherwise unspectacular round.

Joined you all yesterday, hole in one on the Fifth at Burnham on Crouch, lovely strike with my Wishon 7 Iron, it never left the flag. 140 yards slightly up hill, still can't believe it!

OMG!!
Only went and got my 2nd hole in one today.
It was at the 8th hole at Cobtree.
I wait 40 years for the 1st one and the 2nd one comes along 9 months later.
This game is unbelievable and I'm never failed to be surprised.
And i got the hole in one with my 7 wood affectionately called "Roy" which belonged to my best buddy who died some years ago.
Long Live TSG :)

After my previous comment about Marky Mark giving others a chance....
....yup, got another one today (2nd) at the Par 3 Competition at Pedham Place!
Hole number one on the course (my 9th today), a wee distance of only around 65 yards, but it was sweet as a nut, landed on the green hopped once and disappeared into the hole!
And this time I saw that little ball disappear underground. Thanks to Paul and Judy seeing it happen.

I put it all down to my giving John the proper distance from the Bushnell reading. Good job John didn't take the distance that was showing on the buggy screen!
Great banter today and a well deserved ace
