The problems we experienced sending emails to those members who use AOL (they were being blocked) was because a few TSG members marked the emails they received as 'spam'.
AOL have reviewed our processes, agreed that we shouldn't have been blocked and removed the block.
However, they report that some TSG members are continuing to mark our emails as spam and the 'blocking' is an automatic process based on AOL member 'complaints'. So AOL have agreed to pass to us the detail of these 'complaints'.
We don't want to get back to the situation whereby we can't advise any TSG members who use AOL that there is a game in their area or that they have unread messages.
So, for the good of the vast majority of AOL members within TSG, from Saturday 17th January, we will delete the account of any TSG member where AOL advise us they have marked our email as 'spam'.
So please:
- If you did it by mistake then the next time you receive an email from TheSocialGolfer marked as 'spam' use the AOL menu option to 'mark as NOT spam'.
- if you don't want to receive any emails then update your 'Message/Notification Preferences' (under the 'My Account' menu option) to tell the system you don't want them !
