Dear TSGers,
Just a quick message to share our thoughts on the devasting impact the Coronavirus is having on all of our lives right now. And to say that we are still committed to the website and the unique community we have going-forward.
Firstly, and most importantly I want to reassure ALL TSG members that we will continue to operate the site (even if no one is actually playing golf).
The site has seen an 80% drop in traffic in the last 10 days (gulp!) and thus is having an effect on our ad revenue. It’s likely that the first two TSG Events of the year, The TSG Masters and The TSG Par 3 Championship will have be cancelled or postponed in the coming days, but rest assured we will be here when the lockdown has lifted.
Thankfully, our business model has been strong since our official launch 10 years ago. We have always run the community prudently and with caution (we have never taken a penny from out of the business in that period), but like any small business, we would ask you to continue to support us through this difficult period.
As such, if you are a TSG PRO member (and aren't facing any adverse financial difficulty at this time) we would ask you to support us by renewing your annual PRO membership as and when it comes up.
In return, we will continue the service, including maintaining our annual server contracts, monthly Newsletter writing and distribution and retaining the services of Adam (TSG developer). Furthermore, in order that we can continue to reserve the 'Spirit of TSG' at this time, we have set-up the following two platforms to help us all keep in touch, easily and efficiently:
1 - Steve Duffy has set up a WhatsApp Group called TSG - Keeping in touch
2 - We have set-up a TSG Facebook Group under the same name - TSG - Keeping in touch
Of course, we can all still communicate via the TSG Forum and are happy to help out anyone local to Essex (TSG HQ), who may be in need of any provisions or mental support during our isolation.
In short, stay in touch, for all our well being. We are a very supportive community, so let's keep that up. And if anyone has any ideas on how we can support the wider community, we are open to any suggestions.
Obviously, we will continue to keep you updated on any changes to the TSG Major calendar but for now, we are officially postponing this year's TSG MatchPlay ties until May (at the earliest) but this may go back further if necessary.
In the meantime, please stay home, and try to imagine how nice those fairways will be once the ban is lifted with no one having walked them in weeks!!
#StayHomeStaySafe
