Here's the official R&A stuff - some tweaks from the above, but pretty similar:

The proposals for a safe return to playing at grass roots level, (forgive the pun) look to be sensible enough.
If we commit to the recommendations, it is an opportunity to play safely...
Social distancing should not be a problem, even off one tee box, and at our level we are rarely closer than 2 metres anywhere else on the course.
Take the opportunity to lobby your local MP. Even if larger groups may not be allowed for a while, 2 balls are a good start but 4 balls shouldn't be an issue either.
Stay safe, prepare for a 'new ' normal.

Some of the restrictions when the courses reopen appear to have been dreamt up by people who have not been near amateur golf for years. And they definitely didn't go near a course just prior to lockdown.
2 ball only - have they not seen how we splatter the fairway AND rough when playing together?
No rakes - didn't have them before lockdown, and to be honest there are too many players who don't know what they are for.
Ball washers - not required
Bins - many think that is what the whole course is for
Now let's see, is there anyone else to upset?

I have just read the gov, statement, it looks that golf will start soon!!! they say from the 4th, but the clubs, still say closed, it always takes time for things to happen out here!!! it will be 7weeks since i have hit a ball on wednesday, at first it will only be members, could take some time for flights to start again, which will bring in the golfs, but i am not so sure many will want to get on a plane, until it is truely over, and at this time of the year why come to portugal to play golf, must say the beaches look great with nobody on them, theres always a plus, i will have to wait till monday for more news hope its good

Lots of rumours flying about. But as of today England Golf have not officially issued an open up policy. I think the whole country is waiting for an announcement from Boris on Thursday. I am hoping there will be some good news given then.👍
Update: Government statement as to exit strategy now postponed until Sunday 10th

Possibly find any clubs that are 'ready' may well open booking for a hoped for on 11th, but can always move dates to the following week.
Don't know, just guessing.

Nice one Roger.....If you put your score in, there's a good chance you will win the coveted green towel....as you'll probably be the only one who gets a bloody game. :(

13th May, sees a potential return to some form of golf. I am advised that booking of tee times will start to be allowed for this Wednesday morning at some golf courses. There are some limitations at the moment and further clarifications have been sought.
One balls OK
Groups of same household appear to be OK, not sure if this is limited to two balls...
On the basis that golfers can easily adhere to social distancing requirements, we ought to be allowed further latitude...
Stay alert, stay safe..

Hmmmm...IMHO it feels like a its all a bit pointless to me.
After all, if TSG tells us nothing, its tells us that golf isn't (generally) played (or enjoyed) alone, so not sure why I would want to play golf right now.
A two-ball walking across open parkland is about as safe as anywhere right now. However, want to go and sit in the park with other families, thats OK.
I'd rather stay home, stay safe and wait till golf can be enjoyed again by all and not just a select few.
Can't help thinking that once again, golf has shot itself in the foot!

Looks like you can play as a 2 ball with one non family member, so not too bad, presumably nothing to stop you booking consecutive tee times and having a chat in the car park and from distance on the course

its typical of the gov to make it clear as mud, it was the same here, at first they said two balls only, but by the time i played it had been changed to 4 balls which is how we are all playing, but no bar, club house etc, but thats ok, so glad to see you playing, but the clubs will find it hard to make money as only half the players can play, still its a start, looks like my shop will not open for some time, and travel for me is also far away, will haveto stay here for some time to come

My club's guidance, issued by England Golf.
11th May 2020
Dear Member
As you will be aware, today the Government has confirmed that golf courses will be allowed to open again this week. People will be allowed to play golf either alone or with one other person who is not a member of their household. This is excellent news for us all.
We are working hard to prepare for our reopening and are delighted to let you know that we will be open for business on Thursday 14th May.
The Golf Shop and Reception, Driving Range, Oaks and Acorns courses and Bear Creek will all be open as normal from 8am-9pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 7pm at weekends. In line with Government restrictions, we regret that the Clubroom will remain closed until further notice, but soft drinks will be available to purchase in the Golf Shop.
The disabled toilet will be open, but the Men’s and Ladies changing rooms will remain closed for the time being. We apologise for any convenience this may cause, but we feel this is a necessary precaution given the need to practise social distancing.
Golfers will be able to play only nine holes on each course, but you will be able to play the Oaks and Acorns to make an 18 hole round in one day.
We will give priority to Members where possible, but would advise you to book a tee time to guarantee a slot. You must notify the Golf Shop before going out to play and if you do not wish to enter the building, please telephone us on 01376 510222 to let us know you have arrived so we can inform you of any restrictions or things you need to be aware of.
Please adhere to any new safety measures that are in place. There will no bunker rakes so you are asked to smooth the sand with your golf club or foot. Please do not touch the flagpoles, the ball will sit proud in the cup so it will be easy to remove. And most importantly, please observe the two metredistance rule and give each other plenty of space, wherever you are at the Golf Centre.
The health and safety of our staff, our Members, and our visitors is our priority, so please help us to make Rivenhall Oaks a safe environment for everyone.
Thank you all for your patience and continued support during these difficult times, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Rivenhall Oaks.
Kind regards
Bill Chapman
Centre Manager

Roger,
I quoted what I read on one of the Crown Golf Club website , my local one Sunbury on Thames.
I think it is in correlation with the airline quarantine when one returns to U.K. Self isolate for 14 days. Hope that makes sense and answer your question, if not check with the Golf Club itself.
