I'm looking to buy a new set of irons my last irons were the Mizuno jpx ez irons. Unfortunately they were stolen from me. I was thinking about buying another used set but I was wondering if anybody knows of a newer set of golf clubs whether they be Mizuno or any other brand that is close to being equivalent to the Mizuno jpx ez irons. You might consider ping g25, similar to the mizuno.

Hi Jarrett

I use Mizuno JPX 825 (not pro) - I'm very happy with them. Believe should are a little thinner on the top line than the EZ but very similar. You should be able to pick up a full set on ebay for under £200. Good solid middle of the road irons. - classified as good game improver irons.

 Depends on your budget?

Personally, I'd not buy brand new...plenty of great condition 2nd hand ones that'll save you £100s

Hi Jarrett.  If your going for NEW irons, I think most important thing is being properly fitted.  Narrow it down to 3 or 4 options, then go to a qualified fitter.  Not knowing your area I can't recommend anywhere.  All the top brands are very very similar, Mizuno, Titleist, Ping etc.  Good cheaper brands like Cobra or even Benross, depends on your budget.  It's all very personal.  Fitting is well worth it in the long run.
I have a set of Wilson blades, but they could be totally wrong for you ( not always great for me 😠 ).  There are hundreds of YouTube videos reviewing clubs, but even they will say it's personal, and you HAVE to test etc.
Just DON'T get seduced by marketing, they will all say theirs are the best and will improve your game hugely.

Andrew is right...if you're near Silvermere that's a good place for fitting...and although you pay a bit for the fitting (£100 for the set I think) you get that back if you buy the clubs from them....

Also a believer that the top brands are similar, so 3 or 4 you just like when you pick up and address the ball would be the ones to then put through the data at the fitting....

Pings are great and can be readjusted as your swing changes if you're new to the game....I've just gone for a set of Titleists and adore them....

The good thing at Silvermere is they cater for all budgets, but also don't push a particular brand (like a pro shop often would or American golf for example, depending on comission etc.)
