Is it just me, or did anyone else not know it was the British Masters this weekend!

Once again our great governing bodies fail to promote what is one of the UK's few golf events with a quailty field e.g. The Open, The BMW at Wentworth and this.

Surely, this IS exactly the type of event that should be on the BBC to encourage youngsters to try the game...

My head is in my hands again!

I agree Ian, it was being heavily promoted during last weeks Sky coverage of the Wells Fargo game. They are missing a trick to have it on terrestrial tele.  I'm presently only able to watch the golf through a 6 month trial App from my nephews on his Sky network. Once this ends it'll be back to no viewing of golf for me. Yeah so this comp unusually starting on a Wednesday, so lucky for me you posted this Ian as a reminder. I'm off to the App to watch it, or maybe its highlights at least.

I knew, but to be honest it didn't really register.....BUT, the only reason I did know was because it was plugged on SKY this weekend. Obviously EG or whoever is promoting it don't want fans turning up as no crowds allowed as yet.

No chance of the BBC ever getting their hands on the competition because SKY have (apparently) bottomless pockets!

Looking at European Tour schedule there is an event at the London Club (The English Open), Wales Open at Celtic Manor and a tournament in N Ireland ( clashes with olympics). The latter will be promoted well in NI and probably be sold out if pandemic allows. Will English Open be promoted?

I saw hardly any coverage of the event, even on U Tube.  Wall to wall coverage of the PGA!!  Golf just not seen as sexy enough to the British Media!

Great that Richard Bland got his first win at nearly 50, but hardly a house hold name to spark much interest in our sport.  What with Phil winning the PGA maybe its viewed as retro sport?
