Hi Folks,
Has anyone encountered someone using Lip Balm on their clubs to reduce ball spin?
My playing partner from Thursday League was smearing this stuff on his clubs. Of course he won didn't he...cheaters abound once again.
Well... I'm dropping this league and moving on to a better class of players I hope...
Cheers!

Lip balm ? Any substance applied to the club face is a rule breaker, yes spin may be reduced and extra distance may be achieved at the cost of lack of control mayhap.
Better I believe to keep the grooves clear and control the result.
I did see vaseline being used in the olden days...

I totally agree.
What seems to disturb me is that it's so blatantly popular...
Just at the new course this week there's Buddy improving his lie with the ball.
So I can play the course and ignore it or call it out and create a dust up.

Eventually, those that break the rules will end up as outcasts no 'clean' people will play them.
To call out or not call out is an individual's choice and we are not all cut out to be vigilantes. The game relies on honour and honesty.
