I just noticed SSP on the TSG profile, reflected as a percentage. What is this?

I think it is related to the SSs for each course, therefore this a version of SSS for each individual player (SSP), which basically answers the question how close do you score in relation to SSS for all the courses you've played in x period of time. This may provide a measure of how accurate your handicap is, is your handicap to high or too low, if this is the case maybe it serves as a tool for the handicap commmittee to indicate if there is a need for adjustment?

If this is the case, does this mean that 90% is better than 60%.

We can only speculate, and maybe Ian and the team will reveal before Xmas?

Hi Gary(et al),

Alas, we are still testing at things right now, so not quite ready to explain yet.

Your guess is VERY well considered ..... but sadly, not correct!

However, in order to make things more FUN, we're starting a competition today...

We'll giveaway a sleeve of TSG logo'd Golf Balls to anyone who can guess what SSP stands for and what it is actaully going to be used for?

SSP = Social Score Percentage - measure of how many games were played via TSG games advertised on the site. 90 out of 100 games played were via TSG advertised games therefore your score is 90%.

Hi Gary,

You're so damn close, we are going to give it to you!

SSP = Scorecard Submission Percentage

The metric is designed to track 'scorecards entered' against 'games played on TSG'.

e.g. If you have joined x20 TSG games but only submitted x18 scorecards, you will get a 90% score

This allows us to know who is actively tracking their handicap and who isn't, and once fully tested we will reset, so everyone will start at 100%.

If you're SSP dips below 95%(TBC), this 'could' mean you are not eligible for the main prizes at TSG Days.

It therefore rewards those that are properly tracking their handicap vs those that don't.

A sleeve of TSG Gofl Balls are on their way to you!

I have a ssp  of 77%    but i have  posted  every game i play,  so mine should be 100%     maybe this is why they are not using this now, i think its hard to make people  put there cards in,  some do,  some dont, its always been that way,  its hard to change people,   but good luck  with trying something new,  roger

Now you know why we didn't tell anyone Gary!

"TEST" - Dictionary definition

noun
  1. 1.
a procedure intended to establish the quality, performance, or reliability of something, especially before it is taken into widespread use.

Thanks Ian and the team, welll at least that's answered the question, this looks like it could be a contentious metric. I'm sure there will be some interesting conversations that follow...

Thanks again
