Dear TSGers,

Another great day enjoyed by all at Farleigh GC and superb fought match that went all the way to the 16th green.

After being five down after seven at one stage, Martin Kelly fought hard to get it back to 2 down after 14, but the lead for John Donaldson was just too great.

We must commend the spirit in which this match was played, two guys both courteous and supportive of each other as they battled in superb conditions.

Well done to Farlieigh GC for being our host. The course was looking as good as we've ever seen it and boy, were those greens fast!

Commiserations to Martin, who showed he could compete under pressure but congratulations goes to John Donaldson, out new TSG Matchplay Champion 2022!

Winners on the day included:

TSG MatchPlay Champion - John Donaldson (4&2)

Runner-Up - Martin Kelly

-------

Many thanks to Ian and Mark for organising and running this years Matchplay event. I thoroughly enjoyed playing all my opponents in the previous rounds and then against Martin in the final. A great fought contest that could have swung anyway, but in the end I managed to grind out the result.

As Ian has mentioned it was played within the best spirits, something that both Martin and I had agreed on prior to teeing off. We where there to enjoy the day.

Many thanks to the other members from TSG who turned up to play and welcome us in on the 18th green.

Looking forward to trying to defend the trophy next year.

Best wishes,

John

What a great day out this was, many congratulations to John, you were a worthy winner. Thanks to Ian & Mark for organising another fantastic event.

The course was in excellent condition and the weather was nigh on perfect, great fun had by all, just a shame there weren't more attendees, maybe something to think about for next year. I always enjoy the TSG events and this was no exception, John and myself tried our hardest and as John said, made sure that we had a lot of fun and plenty of craic with Ian along to support.

Great day ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒโ€โ™€๏ธ
