Hi Chris,
Very good question....
Alas, we have no affiliation to England Golf, as we have our own calibrated Handicap calculator and certificate.
- TSG has our GHS (Global Handicap System) that takes its lead on rules and regulations from USGA and the R&A (Not EG)
- As a Private Members Club, we are under no obligation to follow EG/iGolf and are free to implement our own 'local' rules
- The Social Golfer does not accept EG/iGolf Handicap at our events (just as they do not accept ours).
However, please note, with The Social Golfer - GHS - you can enter a card from anywhere in the world, whereas with EG, you can only enter scores from Engand, Wales, Scotalnd. (So, not really a world handicap system!).
In addition, we have been running online handicaps since 2010, EG didn't launch theres until 2020.
N.B. Our certificate has been widely accepted all over the UK, as proof of playing ability including St Andrews.
Any problems or if you'd like to discuss in more detail our system, please feel free to contact us on the office no. 01277 200207
I hope that helps
Kind Regards
Ian & the TSG Team
