Hi Phil,
I went to Myrtle Beach around 8 or 9 years ago and you'll be spoilt for choice over there. I stayed in the Holiday Inn (Oceanside). It was ok...nothing special but central, so golf courses are within easy reach and the beach is on your doorstep.
My memory isn't as it once was, but two courses stand out. The first was the Hummingbird course at the Wild Wing Plantation. We saw signs to the course on the way to the hotel, drove in and asked for a tee time. I remember the green fee was $10 and the cart $20. The course was immaculate. Tees and greens were in great condition and the rough was cut to the same height throughout the course.
The other course that stands out was Kings North at Myrtle Beach National, mainly because of my "ace" at the 12th but also because there were a few interesting holes and the general maintenance of the course.
The other courses we played were organised by the golf desk at the hotel.
Hope this helps
Adrian
