Well Heather (new member here) and Nat, her son, joined me and my regular midweek partner for a round of golf on the Priors course today.

Nat is 11 years old and not very tall, but he has a lovely swing.

He hits his tee shot with a lovely little draw and seems to swing effortlessly.

He is the same with his irons.

He didn't chip or putt that well today but that is not a problem.  He was playing a course he's never played before and he didn't get the speed of the greens, but that will come the more he plays there.

The fault mentioned in his video is no longer there.

As Nat gets older, taller and heavier I can easily see him becoming a single figure golfer before he's 16 years old.

Nat's only problem is that he allows a bad shot to affect him, but once he's got that out of the way his scores will come down quickly.

Hopefully he enjoyed his round of golf.

Thanks he did enjoy his game with you and Gary, although he said he was not tired he was, was not concentrating as much as he usaly dose he played Hainault Upper Course on Sunday , Romford on Monday , Wedensday was in a comp at Crowlands Heath, as with most kids they know how well they can play if they don't then they get cross with them selfs have been in junior golf rooms and seen lots of snaped golf clubs. If only they lernt how to calm down in the Ur13 and 14s they get taught breathing exercises to help calm them down.

Nat went to see his coach yesterday had a leason on chipping he said it was not his tecnick that is fine its his judging the distance to chip the ball from the hole and learning to read the green so he can work out how the ball will run. At the end of the coaching he was chipping the ball right to the hole so all he has to do now is pritice.

Good to hear that the chipping is now working.

Everybody has there off days so I'm not taking to much notic of our round together the other day, far better to judge things after four or five rounds.

Nat hits the ball with a lovely, effortless swing.  Normally straight down the middle of the fairway.

While he is still young he needs to practice his short game as its a very important part of the game of golf.

As he gets older/bigger he can carry on with his long irons/fairway woods, but to be honest he's doing OK with them now.

I'll get in touch Heather when I can take Nat around again.

Nat goes for his 1st Essex Coaching for this year on 14th they  consternate on theshort game as all the boys have there own coaches as most coaches teach diferantly essex Coaches are not allowed to change any of the boys swings they start at 12.30 and finnish 5.30 or 6 so its great for all the boys to meet up so hopefully after Micks coachiong this week his short game will be ok.
