After months of playing bad at the golf club Nat joined last year and after months of not having any one to play with he shot 90 in a comp at Crowlands Heath on Saturday and yesterday at Wanstead the club he rejoined he shot 94. He is so much more relaxed when he goes round, I feel welcome there know a lot of the golfers, he played there from the age of 7 to 10, I did not feel welcome at the new club would not go into the club house, its great to feel welcome. Was offered if he stayed at the new club that they would pay 1 of his coaching lessons a month which is worth £25 but felt he was better of at his old club where he plays better and has friends to go round with. Could some one please tell me what his handy cap should be with the 2 scores he had this week end thanks.

you can't really calculate a handicap on 2 scores, but if you assume he played a par 72 course and scored 90 (18 over) & 94 (22 over) then depending on the sss of the course (standard scratch score) He should play off about 20. Put the scores on this site and let it calculate for you!

As Roly said, if you enter the details of the scorecards into the system (under 'My Games/Stats' then 'Completed Games' then 'Add Score') the system will calculate Nat's handicap (and maintain details to show charts of his progress etc).

I'm glad to hear that Nat is enjoying his golf.

It does appear that you have made the correct decision by moving back to Wanstead GC.

Hi Gholam - Think your handicap needs to be at least 18 shots lower before you think of Qualifying School, that's for the big boys.

I think it is very important that he works on his game which can be accomplished on his home course. One needs to remember, you have to be able to take your game on the road and play as well. Being a member of a club allows you to work on your game in a confortable enviroment. It is my belief (I am also a member of a club) that members should play away from their home course at least one day a week. Watch the improvement, especially at the home course.
