TSG splits the various options for configuring your account between 'My Account' and 'My Profile' sections.
Under 'My Account' the system holds the detail about you that is private (it is not shared or seen by anyone). Here is where detail of your local Postal Code is held (necessary to identify golf games local to you), your Email Address (used to notify you of new games and/or new private messages) plus all the On/Off switches controlling the options for notifications (do you want to receive emails? do you want to receive Private Messages? etc).
Under 'My Profile' the system holds the detail which is shown to other members. What other members see of you when they click on your Profile (whether via Member Search, via the link attached to your forum posts or after you've joined a game etc). So, here you can add a little in the 'About you' box, upload a picture to be shown whenever the system refers to you (as a forum contributor, when you join a game etc), you can add the list of your 'Regularly played clubs', your favourite game format plus add your Handicap (your handicap will thereafter be automatically adjusted based on the 'TSG Unified Handicap System' standards when you add details of your game scores).
So in summary:
- 'My Account' is where your private personal information plus your email & messaging configuration switches is held.
- 'My Profile' is where you add/maintain the 'profile' which other members see of you.
