I am a female 30something high-handicapper just starting out again for the 2009 season after 6 months out of the game. Am wondering if there is much demand out there from others like me who are flat out with work during the week and not quite good or brave enough for to play competitively at the weekends?! I would be interested in arranging to play a social 18 holes at weekends once or twice a month with others in the same boat if there is enough demand...

Hi Anne, the forum is a good place to raise your question and start your quest but once you get going and you get a few takers it's better to communicate via the Private Messaging system rather than the open forum and, perhaps form a 'Ladies Golf Group' which you can then all join (that will make keeping in touch and arranging games easier; plus any game you add to the system will automatically be promoted to everyone within the local area via an email). As an aside, you put down your location as London, which is a big place so the Member Search is a bit inaccurate (you can try with your actual location) but using the search it says there are nearly 100 ladies of 18-36 handicap withing 40 miles of London. So a few potential members local to you with similar objectives, time restrictions etc.

Hi Anne, I don't know where you live (North, South, East, West London...) but there is already a Surrey Ladies Group and a Kent Ladies Group. Why don't you join them as a start? Alternatively there is a Kent Beginners Group (mixed) if that's of interest. Lots of options. Good luck.
